When was the last time you called out a plumber and why did you call them out? Would you only consider picking up the phone and dialling 07966 078371 if a water pipe had burst and the house was starting to resemble the local swimming pool? What about when you turn on the shower and you get hit by a deluge of freezing cold water on a winters morning?

Both of these are extreme examples of why you might be hastily looking through your contacts trying to find your local friendly plumbers number on your phone to come and save the day. But what about those other issues that may not seem like they come under the banner of a ‘plumbing emergency’ such as the house flooding or having to go to work without having had a shower?

There are many different types of plumbing problems, and we’re often asked “is this a common problem?” So in the name of ‘Plumbing Enlightenment’ we’ve decided to pull together a series of blog posts to give you an idea on the issues that we come across on a regular basis. We’re sure you may recognise to a number of them!

The Dripping Faucet

Does this ring a bell: ‘That constant dripping noise is annoying…. but the kitchen isn’t flooding,  I’ll get around to it eventually.’

Most of us have had a dripping faucet, that annoying drip, drip, drip sound coming from the kitchen or bathroom. The likelihood is that you probably ignored it for a while! That dripping faucet not only wastes water, it wastes money on your water bill. Through the power of internet research we’ve managed to find a ‘Drip Calculator’ (yes they do exist!) that will give you an idea on just how much water you might be wasting if you don’t deal with that leaky faucet…..prepare to be shocked. (The data is based on US gallon measurements)

If you have a leaky faucet and would like to get an idea on how much water is literally ‘going down the drain’ take a look at the ‘Drip Calculator’...then give SJS Plumbing and Heating a call.

So you don’t have to run and find your phone we’ve made it easy for you – 07966 078371.
