Boiler servicing often falls low on the list of priorities for home owners, however it quickly becomes a high priority when the heating and hot water isn’t working, especially in the winter!

A recent survey by Worcester Bosch in 2019 revealed that 10% of people in the UK have never had their boiler serviced.

The same survey suggested that 20% of people in the UK haven’t had their boiler serviced for more than 12 months. In fact, 18% of people think that boiler servicing is unnecessary and you should just wait until your boiler breaks down to have it looked at by a heating engineer.

So why should you have your boiler serviced on a regular basis?

Well, did you know that if you are a home or property owner, it is your responsibility to have your boiler serviced every year in order to keep your boiler warranty valid?

Having a valid warranty can offer you the peace of mind that should anything happen, your boiler is covered and you can avoid unexpected costly repairs.

If your boiler warranty isn’t valid then you are liable for having the boiler repaired or replaced, and worse if it’s unsafe, you may have to leave the property until the boiler is declared safe again.

Making sure that your boiler or appliance is in top working condition and safe to use should be a priority for most homeowners.

Having regular servicing increases the longevity of your boiler, helps to reduce gas and oil usage and most importantly for you and your family, keeps your home warm and safe.

After servicing, most companies will also provide you with a Homeowner certificate as evidence that the boiler has been serviced and defective parts have been replaced, so that if the worst does happen, you are able to show that you have taken steps to have the system regularly maintained.
